Overview

This site grew from another community site we built about 5 years ago and needed not only a new name but a completely new look aswell. For some reason that even now we don't fully understand, there is a huge empty void on the internet that should have tutorials for web developers and designers in Japan. We decided to fill that void with this site.

In essence this site is on it's 4th renewal (3 times as the previous site www.3Enhancedesigners.com) and has improved 100 times with new ideas for content management and how to show it all. We've gone from over 2000 static pages of content in the tutorials to a mere 5 pages. This whole site runs off of a database with templates for easy site wide changes when they are needed.

With the amount of tutorials and information in Japanese on this site the Japanese community has responded and we have over 2100 members registered. Not only are there tutorials, there is a download page to download source files, an aggregator to show some choice blogs on the pertinent technology, a forum to ask and answer questions and show off, along with a weekly poll and mailing list to get out new information to all members who sign up.

Design & Technology

This site is full of technology, from the MSSQL database in the backend to the ASP that runs the show on the forum and tutorials. We also have a Coldfusion based aggregator for blogs and the download page is all Adobe Flash that pulls in data via ASP generated XML. The administration for the downloads and tutorials is also all Flash/XML based for a simple and powerful user experience.
