New Tutorial : Understanding Live Origin and Repeater Applications for Wowza Streaming Engine

Posted by Graeme Bull - May 28, 2014 - Tutorials, Video, Wowza Media Server

In this tutorial I talk about setting up and publishing and playing a live stream to an origin application and live stream repeater application. While I do the setup manually by adjusting the application.xml files, using the Wowza Streaming Engine Manager it is just as easy as there are few steps both ways. Once you have an origin application setup, it’s a matter of then setting up the edge repeater applications across many servers and then set them to connect to the origin server application.

The main use for this is to distribute the load of serving up a live stream across many servers instead of having playing clients go to one server.
