Watching the keynote for MAX this morning and I couldn’t help but be rather inspired by what was shown. I’ve got the extension for Flash Pro for AIR 2.5, the new Flash Builder Burrito, not quite installed yet, got a lot of things to do today..
Overall though it’s great to hear so much innovation going on at Adobe. We’ve been working towards getting more stuff out on mobile devices from our recent support of iOS because it doesn’t support Flash (thanks a lot Apple for creating more work…) and our menu and video tutorials are all Flash based (of course) to our newest iPhone/iPad app with more on the way.
With the new SDKs out to go with AIR2.5 I’m once again inspired by Adobe and what they are doing and going to be doing. I love the fact that the rest of the industry other than Apple is on board and I’m really looking forward to what happens next. I can’t help but wonder if Apple will finally get off their high horse and jump on the real bandwagon. They’re making progress with allowing other developers into their very walled off garden, which is handy, but there’s so much more to do.
If you watched the keynote then I’m sure you also had a big smile when it was mentioned that a real internet experience requires flash, and while worded differently than that it was definitely a dig at Apple that they don’t provide that experience to the rest of the world. It’s a funny and yet a sad thought indeed of this kind of politics. Lame.
All in all, Inspired with a capital I. Great job Adobe, make it happen and keep it up!
